After Art Deco and before Miami Vice, there was this little bit of private-eye candy.
SUrfside 6 was also the telephone exchange in the days before all-digital phone numbers. After Ma Bell switched to all-digital, SUrfside 6 became 786. 786 is also one of Miami’s area codes. Coincidence?
PS: Seeing this reminds me of the line from A Chorus Line: “If Troy Donahue can be a movie star, then I can be a movie star.”
