A spokesperson for Rep. Allen West (R-FL) is honked off that a reporter actually quoted him in the paper as saying that there are Commies in the Democratic Party but that he didn’t name names:

“One stupid reporter with a local publication misquoted the entire thing, and they all jumped on one press account without verifying,” said West’s campaign manager Tim Edson, referring to the original report in the Palm Beach Post . “It’s all typical West Wing marching orders for their friends in the press.”

The “misquote” is that Mr. West did name names: he later said that all the members of the Congressional Progressive Caucus — some 78 members of Congress — are Communists because they belong to the caucus. Get yourself a list of the caucus and you have your Commies. See how easy that is?
