I don’t agree with George F. Will on much. Very little, as a matter of fact. But he has a nice tribute to the Beach Boys, who have been around for 50 years now. Of course he has to look at them with pundit-laden heaviosity — the socio-economic implications of California surf music versus East Coast urban pop and the Beatles. I still like them for the reason I did when I was a teenager: they invoked visions of cool cars and well-built guys hanging out on the beach. Whatever; I’m glad they still get around.
