First time I saw it, I was home from university over the holidays. I was flipping through TV Guide (yes, this was pre-Internet) and saw it:
Me: Oh WOW! Victor/Victoria is on — oops….
Mum: What is it?
Me: (remembering Mum doesn’t know) Oh, nothing… you wouldn’t like it.
Mum: (reading the listing) OH! ROBERT PRESTON is in it! Let’s watch.
I spent the first half hour or so sweating bullets (Is this funny? Should I laugh? What WILL she think?) – until I realised Mum was laughing hysterically.
I’ve had the VHS, laserdisc and DVD versions – and waiting for the blu-ray.
Let me know when it’s on Blu-Ray.
It is. Check Amazon.
The only blu-ray version I saw was a recording of the stage version (good, but quite different).
Amazon is taking pre-release orders for the film version.
LOVE that movie.
