Serious Discourse

Grover Norquist on the election results:

The president was elected on the basis that he was not Romney and that Romney was a poopy-head and you should vote against Romney.

The ghost of William F. Buckley just spit up a little in his mouth.

5 barks and woofs on “Serious Discourse

  1. Grover Norquist is an unelected guy who is somehow able to control half the Republican party, who signed his pledge and now bow down to his image. It is ridiculous! Who the heck is he anyway? I think he is an attention seeker and a power monger. I admire absolutely nothing about him. Talk about a poopy head!

  2. Maybe someone can help me with this. Do our elected representatives take any kind of oath? If so, aren’t they forswearing themselves by placing Norquist’s pledge above the responsibilities of their office? I always wonder about that when I hear that people have signed Norquist’s pledge.

    ?

    • Yes, and yes, and they don’t care.

This is the the modern GOTea: they speak about “higher authority” – and while most of us assume they mean the Xtian Gawd, what they really refer to is Mammon, and specifically the Mammon of the 1%.

Oh, and Norquist is the high school bully we all knew and loathed, who beat up the smarter kids until they did his homework for him. For Norquist, English is one o’them furrin tongues – real Patriots speak Ahmurcan.
