As If We Cared

From today’s Washington Post:

By all accounts, the past month has been most difficult on Romney’s wife, Ann, who friends said believed up until the end that ascending to the White House was their destiny. They said she has been crying in private and trying to get back to riding her horses.

To quote the immortal Hawkeye Pierce: “The instrument has yet to be invented that can measure my indifference to that remark.”

10 barks and woofs on “As If We Cared

  1. Poor little things. Santa didn’t visit them this year.
And aren’t we lucky to have escaped that bullet?

  2. Surprisingly, this tugged at my heart. These poor people were so badly deceived by the bubble of Fox News and the Orcashphere. The indications were not only there, they were quite strong. But they were hidden in the inner world surrounded by sycophants who stunningly mislead them. For some reason, I feel sorry for them.

For a moment… Then it passes.

    • But, you see, that bubble of self-regard has been their personal atmosphere since the beginning of their “charmed” lives. He’s the Lord of Mormonism, she’s his blonde adoring queen who bore him only sons; he was raised in the expectation of having been born to carry out the dreams of his father and be the Lord of America. I wish his mother had lived to see this. Of all of them, she was the most grounded. We can indulge in schadenfreude for a while longer. We deserve it.

  4. She did say it was their turn. We disagreed. I am sure she is disappointed not to be First Lady, but we have a lovely one, and I am content with that. I was so relieved when the returns came in.
