Killing The Brand

Roger Ailes, the boss at Fox News, is benching Karl Rove and Dick Morris.

According to multiple Fox sources, Ailes has issued a new directive to his staff: He wants the faces associated with the election off the air — for now. For Karl Rove and Dick Morris — a pair of pundits perhaps most closely aligned with Fox’s anti-Obama campaign — Ailes’s orders mean new rules. Ailes’s deputy, Fox News programming chief Bill Shine, has sent out orders mandating that producers must get permission before booking  Rove or  Morris.

C’mon, Roger; those guys are the reason a lot of people watch Fox News, the same way people loved Good Times so they could watch Jimmie Walker say “Dy-no-mite!”  They’re the comic relief, the caricature of the Beltway punditocracy.  Without them, Fox might as well be CNN with ratings.

2 barks and woofs on “Killing The Brand

  1. The tape of Rove refusing to believe Ohio went for Obama, not once, but twice, was priceless! The rich guys gave so much money to that “Crossroads” super pac, and they did not win. Since I live in Ohio, I got mighty sick of the endless, unrelenting commercials, but it was all for naught. Rove should just retire and go fishing.
