Yelling At Clouds

Former Attorney General Edwin Meese subs for John McCain in the contest to see who can be the crankiest crank.

Speaking with Newsmax, Meese said Congress may have to consider impeaching Obama if he were “to try to override the Second Amendment in any way” with an executive order. He did allow that there are some executive actions related to guns that Obama could take wouldn’t be impeachable.

“It would be up to the Congress to take action, such as looking in to it to see if, in fact, he has really tried to override the Constitution itself,” Meese told Newsmax. “In which case, it would be up to them to determine what action they should take — and perhaps even to the point of impeachment.”

As someone who was forced to resign from office because of his connections with scammers and con men, Mr. Meese is uniquely qualified to talk about high crimes and misdemeanors.

  1. Mr. Meese, you didn’t want to impeach a president when he marched us off to war for a made up reason and led the nation to financial ruin. However, you would consider impeaching a president who wants to limit the kinds of guns available so that little kids at school and people in movie theaters aren’t shot by mean mentally ill men, right? Please explain this to me, and while you are at it tell me which of the founding fathers favored assault weapons? (Hint: None. They did not exist at the time.}
