Just Ignore Her

I knew there would be some right-wing pushback over the commemoration of the fiftieth anniversary of the the March on Washington, and I knew it would range from the inane — Chris Wallace saying that it’s time to end affirmative action — to the outrageous.

Radio bloviator and Fox News contributor Laura Ingraham took care of the latter.

Conservative radio host and Fox News contributor Laura Ingraham attacked the speakers at the 50th anniversary of Martin Luther King, Jr.’s “I Have A Dream” speech, at one point using the sound of a gunshot to cut off a sound bite of civil rights leader Rep. John Lewis (D-GA) — a man whose skull was infamously fractured by a state trooper on “Bloody Sunday” in Selma, AL, in 1965. Ingraham used the speech’s anniversary to race-bait about black-on-white crime statistics and hosted Pat Buchanan to bemoan the idea that minorities face any higher level of adversity in America 50 years later.

I’m sure she thought it was all in good fun — just hee-larious — and why can’t you silly liberals take a joke?

So I guess the question is why do we bother to pay attention to the juvenile antics of a racist douchebag like her?  All it does is get her name out there on the Google thing and bring in more like-minded listeners.  Just ignore her and she’ll go away.

I’m all for ignoring her… to the point that everyone, including the people who pay money to sponsor her show on the radio, ignore her as well.  I’m all for ignoring her until she’s one of those urine-soaked street people who scream at passing cars and hold up cardboard signs about the vengeance of Sauron.

2 barks and woofs on “Just Ignore Her

  1. Laura Ingraham and Pat Buchanan have as much to say about racism in the US as Kim Jong-Un has to say about open societies, except Kim’s statements would be both more entertaining and more meaningful.
