5 barks and woofs on “Mystery Photo

  1. The divided grille and that turquoise shield emblem say “Pontiac,” but the excessive chrome work screams “Chrysler’ ‘Forward Look’ Period.”

    I’ll go with Pontiac, 1958.

    • 98% right, Bryan. The only points off are for the fact that Edsel was created as a separate division at Ford, like Mercury and Lincoln, so the exact answer is 1960 Edsel Ranger. By the 1959 model year, Edsel had been merged with Mercury and Lincoln divisions forming “M-E-L” until it died a painful death in November 1959.

  2. Oops, my bad, I didn’t see your answer before I posted the response. The color told me late 50s to early 60s, and the grill badge looked like Pontiac, but Pontiacs had sheet metal down the center. Finally I remembered the Edsel, and looked to see if they might have dumped the chrome ‘O’ before dropping the brand, which they did in 1960. That was the year a lot of models went from headlights on the fenders to part of the grill.
