Household Chore

Where to hang the family photos?

001

These used to hang in the upstairs hall of my parent’s house. They go back at least 50 years, and the one in the upper right is closer to 60 because my younger brother, born in 1956, isn’t in it.

3 barks and woofs on “Household Chore

  1. I know what you mean. I have pictures all over the place and the bottom two drawers of the file cabinet are full of pictures including me my dad and grandfather taken the Sunday before my grandfather died in 1953.

  2. Yesterday your sister and a decorator came to help us do the final bit of picture-hanging. The task was to cover our entrance hall with family pictures much like those you now have. There were 21 of various sizes, pictures of people long dead – like your great-great-great-grandfather and your grandfather as a teenager. There will be a couple more when we find frames for them and when we’re done you can come take a picture of the picture gallery. So very satisfying even if the job took all afternoon and a dropped hammer.

    • Speaking of a dropped hammer, a theatre techie friend of mine had an e-mail address of “oopsthud @ msn (dot) com” for a while.
