The Orcosphere went completely bonkers earlier this week when someone at MSNBC sent out this Tweet:
Dan Savage summed it up.
OMG! MSNBC called all conservatives haters! MSNBC quickly deleted the tweet and apologized. Fox News never apologizes. Write a book that calls all liberals treasonous, write a book that calls all liberals fascists, and you are a welcome guest on Fox News. Send out one stupid, poorly-worded tweet—a tweet that got it half right (not all conservatives are angered by interracial families, but almost all people angered by interracial families are conservatives)—and Fox News won’t rest until you’re named, shamed, and fired.
RNC Chairman Reince Priebus threatened to ban RNC staffers from appearing on MSNBC until he got an apology from the network. Phil Griffin, the president of MSNBC apologized and fired the unnamed staffer who sent out the tweet. The bullies won.
I may have told you that I went to high school in Toledo with Phil Griffin. His family lived down the street and my parents were good friends with his. He was a few years behind me in school, but I remember him as an energetic kid who didn’t take much guff from anyone. Here he is from the school yearbook of 1973:
I have a hard time believing that this guy would have caved so quickly to bullies. But that was forty years ago.

(Totally bald now, too.) Jon Stewart got on his case too. When your baby is attacked you do what you have to do and I guess he was told to do it by the powers at NBC. Or someone did it for him .. . . .
Sigh. After Lather-Reince-Repeat made his announcement, I was so looking forward to having one network… just one major network… to which I could turn for news unpolluted by GOP dogma! But noooo…
and the ultimate irony is, the anonymous msnbc tweeter turned out to be right, although it was the multi-lingual coke commercial that drove the rwnj ‘s crazy.
