ABC’s This Week decided to celebrate Easter by having a couple of religious bigots on their show to tell us that gay people are going to Hell.
As a part of a special Easter week discussion on religion, Graham told ABC News’ Martha Raddatz that gays could go heaven if they repent.
“Maybe gays that are watching want to know, ‘Can God forgive me? Or can I go to heaven as a gay person?’ Absolutely. But the same for any of us. We have to repent of our sins in turn. A person cannot stay in adultery and be accepted by God. You’ll have to repent,” said Graham, president of the Billy Graham Evangelistic Association.
Next year the network plans to celebrate Martin Luther King’s birthday by having the Grand Wizard of the Klan as their special guest.
I notice most news outlets had a sudden binge of sanctimonious insanity the last week or so; we had a bizarre accidental death of a child in state — and the news reported that tho’ it happened on the Easter weekend, “This Christian family can take hope from it being at Easter because we believe death isn’t permanent” or some such bullshit. And last week, when some old fart lost control of his big truck and ran over a two year old, the same sort of tripe was aired as if THAT message WAS the news.
