Trump Scams Vets Donations

Gee, what a shock.

The special website that Donald Trump’s campaign create to raise money for veterans doesn’t actually send funds to veterans. Following his decision to boycott the Fox debate and stage his own rival event supporting “the wounded warriors,” the campaign set up the donation page, which includes a note that the money contributed would go directly to the Donald J. Trump Foundation. “The Donald J Trump Foundation is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization,” the disclosure reads. “An email confirmation with a summary of your donation will be sent to the email address provided above.”

The explanation will be that they will consolidate all the donations and then distribute them evenly among a variety of veterans groups… after they take their take off the top for “administrative costs.”  Yeah, right.

One bark on “Trump Scams Vets Donations

  1. Considering that Trump’s prior beneficiary was the Wounded Warrior Project (which is itself a classic grift), and they flat-out turned down Trump’s money, this is actually less odious than appears. Perhaps Trump will find a non-profit who’ll actually put the money to use doing something other than enriching the execs and protecting the brand. I’m not holding my breath, though.
