Change of seasons: Autumn arrives in the Northern Hemisphere, Spring arrives in the Southern.
My own personal windmill to tilt at. If, as Shakespeare tells us, June 21 is midsummer, then plainly we are at mid autumn now! Harrumph! Today is the equinox, and I will never understand how it’s come to be understood as the first day of autumn.
My birthday is on the spring equinox, so I’ve thought about this a lot. Obviously.
