There Will Be A Revolution

These angry Trumpistas are plotting a revolution if Hillary Clinton wins.

Jared Halbrook, 25, of Green Bay, Wis., said that if Mr. Trump lost to Hillary Clinton, which he worried would happen through a stolen election, it could lead to “another Revolutionary War.”

An information diet from Trump-friendly news media like Breitbart News and Infowars has led many to believe that there is no way Mr. Trump can lose, and that even contemplating the possibility is foolish. “I’d be shocked,” said Rick Hill, 58, of Fort Myers, Fla.

Mr. Hill added, “If you get on social media, he’s got Hillary beat, 3 to 1.”

But others expressed unease about what a Trump loss would bring.

“Unfortunately, I’m not a man of vigilante violence,” said Richard Sabonjohn, 48, of Naples, Fla. “I’m more of a peaceful person. But I do think there will be a large amount of people that are terribly upset and may take matters into their own hands.”

I’m not too sure there has ever been a revolution by proxy.  If you’re going to do it, you have to be the one to do it; you don’t sit around and say “Oh, yeah, we’re all fired up, but someone else is gonna do it.”

I think the real revolution that’s coming is when all these fervent Trump followers figure out that they got conned.  Not just out of the money they’ve been sending into Trump Inc. but conned into believing that Donald Trump is actually on their side and cares about their problems.  And when it finally dawns on them that they got suckered in hook, line, and sinker, it’s not Hillary Clinton they’re going to go after, assuming they can get off the couch.

8 barks and woofs on “There Will Be A Revolution

  1. If you look at the photos of some of the people screaming revolution, they don’t look like they’re capable of holding up a fifth-grade bake sale much less taking to the street. I do have concerns about the divisiveness of his rhetoric and the propensity of Trump’s gullible followers to believe anything, but I’m not fearing revolution.

  2. I think that for some of them, the last time they stood up for anything was to get the bag of Cheetos off the top shelf.

  3. ‘Scuse me, but shouldn’t the reference be Trumpistos with the masculine ending? I’m not sure the Trumpistas will take up arms, but what do I know? I’m guessing most of those women’s first choice would be to put on an apron and stay home to bake cookies rather than being Annie Get Your Gun.

    • In Spanish the ending would be -ista for both masculine and feminine (compare “Sandinista”).

I’m not worried about a mass uprising, but somewhat concerned about a few idiots or small groups going all Ammon Bundy here and there.

  4. These folks who seem to be concern trolling about the possibility of revolution may have a point. While they may not do anything and many self-identifying conservatives I know personally are lovely people with a socially conscientious streak which I would class as aligned to my own socialist tendencies, no doubt they will know someone in their conservative circle who is just barking mad. Likewise, I know a few lefties who get on their favorite topic of outrage and I’m like “Whoa! Buddy, time for a chill pill…”

  5. As someone tweeted yesterday:

I’m having a hard time imagining “revolution” from the people who will wait several minutes in their suburban for a space 15 feet closer to the door of the Golden Corral.

  6. My concern, waving all the above, is THE CRAZIES who are Locked & Loaded.
How many innocent people will die, be brutalized & have their property vandalized because of a few “trumpettes”?
It wouldn’t shock me in the least if a lot of these trump fans were “paid” to perform.
    However……………………………………………….
