Donald Trump knows nothing about combat, but that doesn’t stop him from venturing an opinion on what to do about veterans with PTSD. Via C&L:
The Republican presidential hopeful was answering some questions from a room full of veterans during a function at the Retired American Warriors PAC and was asked about the troubles the VA and veterans are facing when it comes to mental health.
Someone asked, “When you become president, will you support and fund a more holistic approach to solve the problems and issues of veterans suicides, PTSD, TBI and other… military mental health issues?”
Trump utterly and completely BS’ed his way through an answer.
“When you talk about the mental health problems, when people come back from war and combat and they see things that maybe a lot of the folks in this room have seen many times over, and you’re strong and you can handle it, but a lot of people can’t handle it.”
Everything he knows about war he learned from watching “Patton.”
Having PTSD has nothing whatsoever to do with being strong or being able to “handle” it.
