Blue or Green?

Shorter David Brooks: The Democrats, the so-called “party of the common man,” are hypocrites for nominating a blue-blood like Kerry.

Yeah, and Bush came from Tobacco Road? I think Brooks is just envious of Kerry. The way he goes through the inventory of Kerry’s portfolio sounds like Robin Leech doing an episode of “Lifestyles of the Rich and Famous.”

The difference between rich Democrats and rich Republicans is pretty simple, and it boils down to this: it doesn’t matter how much you have; it’s what you do with it that counts. I’ll put John Kerry’s record of public service – or any other Democratic candidate in or out of the race – up against Bush’s any day. And by the way, “community service” – as in what people do to get out of paying DUI fines – doesn’t count.
