The Supreme Court term will come to a close this week, and that is usually the time when members of the court announce their retirement if they are so inclined. This year could see some very interesting retirements…and we’ll get to see who Bush will nominate in this election year.
In no particular order, here’s the roster of the current court.
Chief Justice William Rehnquist Justice Antonin Scalia Justice Sandra Day O’Connor Justice John Paul Stevens Justice Anthony Kennedy Justice Clarence Thomas Justice Stephen Bryer Justice David Souter Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg
Any guesses on who will stay and who will go…and who would be the likely replacements?
I’ve said before that election issues come and go, but the most important issue comes down to who is appointed to the Supreme Court. So this is of no small importance.
I’d be interested to hear your thoughts on this matter.
