Last Day of Summer

Or the first day of autumn.

Down here, the only difference is that the days are shorter, we get less rain, and the A/C doesn’t come on as much.

To answer the perpetual question: No, I really don’t miss the change of seasons like we had back in Michigan. I always knew that after a cool and colorful autumn came a brutal winter with fourteen feet of snow and perpetually gray skies. We do have seasonal changes here in Florida; they’re just a lot more subtle than up north, and they’re different; for example, most of the leaves come off the trees in the spring when the new growth pushes the old leaves off. Vive la difference.
