From the Miami Herald:

Florida’s Medicaid program provided Viagra and other impotence pills to 218 registered sex offenders over the past four years — 77 percent of whom had committed sex crimes involving minors, according to the state’s attorney general.

More than 10 percent of the offenders are classified as sex predators, who are considered some of the worst rapists and molesters.

Total spent: $93,000.

The numbers, though small compared to Florida’s $15 billion Medicaid program serving 2.3 million people, led Gov. Jeb Bush on Tuesday to call for a ban on prescribing the pills to Medicaid-eligible sex offenders — as well as to any Medicaid recipient seeking them for sex problems.

“I don’t think the Medicaid budget ought to be used for any of this, for anybody — certainly not for sex offenders,” Bush said, noting he previously proposed similar prohibitions, though they wouldn’t affect the small numbers that take Viagra for high blood pressure.

Yeah, let them get it over the internet like everybody else.
