Hurricane Dennis moved to the west after crossing Cuba, so it looks like the worst we’re going to get here in South Florida is a bit of blustery weather and thunderstorms. We had an outer band with heavy thunderstorms roll through Miami around 2 a.m. today just like Friday morning and right now — early Saturday — it’s raining and windy, and we’re under a variety of tropical storm warnings and tornado watches.
The bad news is that it is on the same track as last year’s Hurricane Ivan, which did a number on Pensacola up in the panhandle. I hope my friends up there are prepped and ready, and I hope they — and their cats — make it through okay.
Meanwhile, I’m off to the office. Time, tide, and year-end fiscal reports wait for no man.
