Off With Her Head!

I love hearing the Republicans get all het up when a Democrat takes a shot at them.

Republicans took aim at Sen. Hillary Rodham Clinton on Monday for a speech comparing President Bush to Mad magazine’s freckle-faced, “What, me worry?” kid, Alfred E. Neuman.

A Republican National Committee official said the former first lady was “part of today’s angry and adrift Democrat Party,” while a spokesman for one of her potential 2006 Senate rivals said she was guilty of “insulting the president.”

The nerve! Insulting the president! Off with her head!

I gotta hand it to the RNC. They’ve got chutzpah. This is the same crowd that spent the 1990’s trashing anything that the Clintons did, including where they went for vacation. And I don’t mean talk radio; hey, they can do whatever they want. I’m talking about people like Rep. Dan Burton who referred to Mr. Clinton as a “scumbag” and Speaker of the House Newt Gingrich who instructed his followers never to refer to the Clintons without including the word “criminal” in the same sentence. But now…oh, my — Sen. Clinton committing lese majeste!

Their only recourse would be to sue Sen. Clinton for copyright infringement.
