Not a big surprise; the winds had been hovering around 70 mph, and all it took was a bump to 75 to take it from a tropical storm to a hurricane.

Lots of rain, not much wind. This reminds me of last year’s brush with Charley, the hurricane that came up the west coast of Florida and hit Punta Gorda before heading across the peninsula.
