WASHINGTON — White House Scott McClellan said today he is resigning.

Not a big surprise. I’m sure he’ll end up with his own talk show on FOX and cut a nice book deal.

For historical perspective, Ron Ziegler, the press secretary for Nixon, did a gig as the spokesman for the lobbying group representing truck stops.

Update: Tim Grieve at the War Room speculates on whose going to replace Mr. McClellan: Tony Snow? Victoria Clarke? Bill Bennett? Teddy the Wonder Lizard?
