Today, November 8, 2007, marks four years since the start of Bark Bark Woof Woof. Presents are welcome.
I can’t believe I’ve been doing it this long. And as far as I can tell, the only times I’ve missed a day of blogging was in July 2004 when I was in Canada for four days and the hotel didn’t have WiFi, and the days during Hurricanes Katrina and Wilma in 2005. Other than that, I’ve found something to blather on about every day since that November Saturday morning, and I’ve made an amazing number of friends and learned a lot.
While I wouldn’t consider this to be an A, B, or even C-list blog (Atrios doesn’t even know I exist), the exposure by various outlets has gotten me some interesting links and exposure through sites like Slate, Salon, Crooks and Liars, and even the Columbia Journalism Review. I’ve gotten to know some truly remarkable people, including Melissa McEwan at Shakesville, Kenneth Quinnell at the Florida Progressive Coalition, Michael J.W. Stickings at The Reaction, and my fellow writers at The Practical Press. This is truly a miraculous dance of electrons.
And of course, there’s you, the reader. I was deathly afraid that I wouldn’t measure up, but your confidence in me and your encouragement has made me a better blogger, writer, and observer of life and the universe.
So, here we go…another year over and a lot more to come. As Jed Bartlet would say, “What’s next?”
