Fractured Atlas is a non-profit organization that provides services and support to artists and arts organizations. It is currently helping channel donations to the production of Can’t Live Without You. As producer Rachel Charlop-Powers explained it to me, “Adam [Natale, the director of the play] works for Fractured Atlas, so it was his recommendation that I submit an application for fiscal sponsorship. I’d initially had some trouble getting rehearsal space donated, so we submitted the Fractured Atlas application in case we needed to fundraise in order to rent space. As a non-profit we could solicit donations and they would be tax deductible. Turns out we have been able to do everything pretty much free, but one concrete benefit was that we were eligible to get free materials for our set and props from an organization called Materials For the Arts solely because we had non-profit status through Fractured Atlas.”
