We’re finally getting some rain here in South Florida — even though it’s not the rainy season — and it’s beginning to make a small dent in the drought.

Most people, when they hear “tropical climate” think that it’s lush, green, and wet. But I’ve seen cactus (cacti?) growing on cliffs in Tobago, just over the hill from a rain forest, and there are islands in the Caribbean, like Antigua, that are pretty dry.

Anyway, we’re glad to have it, even if it causes a little bit of annoyance, like flooded streets and such.
