Question of the Day

Turn out the lights…

What have you done to conserve electricity in your house?

I have switched most of my lights — especially the ones that are on a lot — to the compact fluorescent type. I have a thermostat with a timer that keeps the air conditioning from running during the day when I’m not there, and I use ceiling fans to keep the house cooler when I’m home. The hot water heater has some kind of device installed by Florida Power and Light that does the same thing as the thermostat; shuts it off overnight and during times of low usage. My electricity bill on the budget plan runs about $75 a month, so I must be doing something right.
