Boxes

I didn’t count the number of boxes the movers used to get me here, but it’s a lot more than I thought. I’ve been doing two or three at a time, putting stuff away and finding places to put things. For one thing, this kitchen has a lot less cupboard space than my old one; they were sacrificed to put in a large window that looks out over the porch and the yard. But the trade-off is that there’s a large closet in the dining area for storage, so it’s an even swap, and this house has a disposal and dishwasher, which the old place did not have.

Anyway, it’s going to be a long day of unpacking and furniture assembly. I will stop to tune in to see what Hillary Clinton has to say at noon.

By the way, does anyone want a lot of perfectly good empty boxes? The moving company doesn’t take them back, the city refuses to take them in the recycling bins, and I’d hate to see them just get shipped off to Mt. Trashmore. Any ideas? Anyone here in South Florida need them? Drop me an e-mail at mustangbobby (at) barkbarkwoofwoof (dot) com.

Update: I found a site called Boxquest that lets me post a free ad for the boxes. Kind of like a craigslist for moving supplies. I’ll give that a shot.

Update II: The latest listing for selling boxes at Boxquest in Miami is dated 2005. Hmm. I need a more immediate solution. Guess I’ll contact the local recycler.
