The Miami Dolphins give Jason Taylor his ticket out.
The long, twisted soap opera involving Dolphins defensive end Jason Taylor rapidly cleaned itself up Sunday when a perfect suitor, the Redskins, suddenly were desperate for the Pro Bowler’s skills after a severe injury to one of their own.
As a result, Miami got its price, receiving a second-round pick in 2009 and a sixth-round pick in 2010 for Taylor. And Taylor got his wish, landing with a playoff contender in a major market.
It would be tough to have envisioned a better scenario playing out for Taylor or the Dolphins. Although it might have taken a hint of luck (or misfortune, if you ask injured Redskins defensive end Phillip Daniels), the unexpected turn of events will allow everyone to amicably move on as Miami holds its first training camp practice Saturday.
I guess Bill Parcells does not take losing on Dancing with the Stars lightly.
