There are several reports out that lead one to conclude that Barack Obama will announce his choice of his running mate tomorrow (Wednesday) while he’s on a campaign swing through Indiana, and that it will be Sen. Evan Bayh of Indiana.
We’ll have to wait and see; unlike some bloggers, I don’t have an inside track to the thinking of presidential campaigns. I do, however, think it would be an interesting karmic turn if Senator Bayh is chosen as the vice presidential candidate on the Obama ticket and it wins. In 1980, Bayh’s father, Sen. Birch Bayh, lost his re-election bid to a young right-winger, one Dan Quayle, who then went on to become vice president in the George H.W. Bush administration.
