When Barack Obama said at the Saddleback Forum Saturday night that deciding whether or not life begins at conception was “above his pay grade,” a lot of righties shot back smartass retorts that there is no higher pay grade than being president and therefore Mr. Obama wasn’t qualified to be president.

Yeah, except that when you listen to the answer, it was abundantly clear that Mr. Obama wasn’t talking about being president, he was talking about God. After all, he was in a religious institution talking to a pastor. Even I got the reference, and I’m a Quaker. So anyone who misinterpreted Mr. Obama’s response as anything else is either too stupid to get the reference or is deliberately distorting what he said.
