Back on the road again, this time heading home from Stratford to Toledo, arriving this afternoon…if they don’t hold us at the border.
I just filled up my dad’s car at the Petro-Canada station down the street and paid $54.34 for 43.5 litres of gas. That works out to about 11.5 gallons, which makes it about $4.74 Canadian a gallon, and the US and Canadian dollar are, as far as merchants are concerned, at par. Yeowch. Good thing my dad’s 1999 BMW gets about 36 mpg on the highway.
See you on the other side of the border.
Update – 4:13 PM: We’re back at my parents’ home safe and sound. It took us 45 minutes to cross the Ambassador Bridge from Canada into the US, but once we got to the Customs booth we were through inspection in less than fifteen seconds. So another nefarious left-wing blogger is back in the country. Dick Cheney must be fuming.
