We — me and my parents — are heading out this morning for Stratford, Ontario, where we’ll be seeing five plays in four days at the Stratford Shakespeare Festival.
Regular readers know that this has been an annual pilgrimage for me, and my first trip to Stratford was when I was in high school in 1970. It pretty much cemented my love of theatre, and while I knew that I would never be a performer there (I’m not Canadian and I’m not that good), it has always been a place where I can enjoy a wide variety of theatre from all the ages — they do a lot more than just Shakespeare.
Some visitors to Stratford took some home movies of the town and the theatres and posted it on YouTube, so here’s a look at where we’ll be the next few days. Except we’re not staying at the motel in the movie.
