Annals of Maverickyness

John McCain said he would suspend his campaign until there was a deal on the financial bailout. He did not suspend his campaign.

He said he would not participate in the debate until there was a deal on the financial bailout. There is no deal, but he’s going to the debate.

Yesterday, it was more important to put the country first and politics second. Today, Sen. Lindsey Graham, Mr. McCain’s toady-in-chief, says, “What’s more important than anything that when we go to Mississippi tonight, both candidates can say that the Congress is working …”

So is John McCain just being all wild-west mavericky, or is he just plain unbalanced? Your call.
