Question of the Day

Grab your passport and cue up the travelin’ music:

What’s the farthest you’ve travelled in one 24 hour period? In a car? By any means?

For me it would be from Florence, Italy, to Longmont, Colorado, in January 1986: train overnight to Luxembourg, then to Chicago via Icelandair (with a stop in Reykjavik), then on to Denver via Continental. According to Great Circle Mapper, that’s 5,786 miles as the crow flies…as long as the crow is a train, a DC-8, an MD-80, and a 1978 Oldsmobile Cutlass.
