Election Day may have been November 4, but today is the day that the Florida electors meet in Tallahassee to cast their ballots.
Florida’s members of the Electoral College are meeting to cast their votes for president-elect Barack Obama.
The Electoral College is scheduled to formally elect Obama president on Monday, with electors meeting in each state to vote in a largely ceremonial procedure.
In Florida, the meeting is being held in the Florida Senate Chambers at 2 p.m.
Electors in 50 states and the District of Columbia will cast 537 votes Monday. A majority of 270 is required for election.
The ballots will be counted officially in the United States Senate on January 8.
I trust this will be a study in foregone conclusions.
