Richardson Out — New Mexico Governor Bill Richardson withdraws his name as Commerce Secretary because of probe of contributor back in the Land of Enchantment. Cue the blaming and finger-pointing.

$300 Billion Tax Cut — Obama throws in a huge tax cut to make the stimulus package palatable to the GOP.

Franken To Be Declared Winner — The Minnesota Senate race is over as far as the state election board is concerned, but the lawyers aren’t done yet. (Bonus track: here’s a sample of what the United States Senate is in for.)

Israel Pushes Deeper into Gaza — They’re getting as much ground as they can while because they still have an ally in the White House.

Kaine to Head DNC — Virginia Gov. Tim Kaine replaces Howard Dean at the helm.

Game Over — the Miami Dolphins lost to the Baltimore Ravens, but it’s still a better season ending than last year.
