Flap du Jour

There was a flutter yesterday over an anonymous quote cited by CNBC’s John Harwood over the the Obama administration supposedly dissing the left-wing blogosphere.

To briefly recap, John Harwood said the Obama White House considers at least criticism from liberals as “part of the Internet left fringe.” Harwood added that “one advisor” told him “those bloggers need to take off the pajamas, get dressed and realize that governing a closely divided country is complicated and difficult.” We don’t know who said this, why, and what his/her connection is to the administration, if any, but the insulting remark is generating a fair amount of controversy.

Now the White House is pushing back against the charge, telling Greg Sargent — a blogger — that the comment does not reflect the administration’s view at all and that they’ve reached out to the blogging community and that they see it as playing a “valuable role” in the discussion.

What I want to know is, who wears pajamas anymore?
