President Obama is in Asia this week trying to rebuild relations with countries that hold a lot of our debt and who have a large influence on our economy and diplomatic relations with countries who are on the verge of becoming nuclear powers… and the only thing the right-wing actually cares about is the fact that the president bowed when he was introduced to the Emperor of Japan.
Aside from the fact that it’s not the first time a president has paid attention to the customs and protocols of other countries when he is a guest there (not to mention the touching moments that President Bush had with Saudi Crown Prince Abdullah in Texas), is that the most important thing that matters to the right-wing nutsery? Sheesh. How does anyone expect us to take them seriously? It’s like dealing with a bunch of sugared-up 8th graders.
HT to Steve.
