It’s actually pretty chilly here in South Florida this morning; it’s 47 F as I write this, and the forecast is for more of the same for the rest of the week.
This is not unusual for this time of year. Every year that I’ve lived here, including the three years I was here in the early 1970’s when I was in college, we’ve had cold fronts come through to remind us that Florida is not technically tropical and central air conditioning does come with a “Heat” setting as well.
The climate change deniers will now say that “global warming” is a hoax because it’s nippy here and below zero in Minnesota. No, it’s winter. Just because we’re shivering here in Miami is no more an indicator of an end to climate change than an afternoon thunderstorm in summer means the drought is over.
On the up side, I get to wear the new sweater I got for Christmas.
