Annals of Asshattery

Rush Limbaugh wonders where the union was at the West Virginia mine disaster.

Was there no union responsibility for improving mine safety? Where was the union here? Where was the union? The union is generally holding these companies up demanding all kinds of safety. Why were these miners continuing to work in what apparently was an unsafe atmosphere?

Because the Upper Big Branch mine is non-union, and Massey Energy, the operator of the mine, threatened to shut it down if the miners voted to go union, even though most of them wanted to.

To quote the immortal C.J. Cregg: “Wow, are you stupid.”
