Yesterday was the annual Easter Egg Roll on the White House lawn, attended by over 30,000 people, most of whom were kids with their parents. One of the families invited was Frank Martin Gill, his partner, and their kids.
For more than five years, Gill and his partner have raised two half brothers who were taken from their abusive birth parents. A Florida judge approved the couple’s 2008 adoption of the brothers, ruling that Florida’s ban on gay adoptions was unconstitutional. But the state appealed that decision and the family is awaiting a ruling from Florida’s Third Court of Appeals.
Nevertheless, it sounds like a great time was had by all.
It’s not the first time gay families have been invited to the event. In 2006 the Bush administration invited 200 gay families, and the gay-bashers went nuts.
