Unacceptable Behavior

Assault and battery is not acceptable from anyone, especially a member of Congress.

Rep. Bob Etheridge (D-N.C.) responded angrily when approached by a student activist recently.

The encounter, captured on video below, started when the student asked the North Carolina Democrat if he fully supports the Obama agenda. Visibly annoyed, Etheridge demands to know who the student is then appears to smack the camera away.

When the video resumes, Etheridge is grabbing the student’s arm and continuing to demand his identity. The questioner responds that he’s a student working on “a project,” and asks Etheridge to let him go.

Mr. Etheridge later issued an apology, which at least acknowledges the stupidity of his actions.

It’s also not the first time members of Congress have reacted unacceptably to being caught on tape. That doesn’t excuse it.
