Now that the Senate has overcome the Republican filibuster on extending jobless benefits for the unemployed, the question lingers as to whether or not it will do any good. In the first place, the immediate benefit is that it will supply some relief for the people who are still trying to find a job without having to move to some other place. But in the long term, the jobless benefits actually do stimulate the economy and help get it going again. Every $1 in benefits generates $1.61 in economic growth.
Does that sound like a left-wing talking point? Sure, but that’s according to Moody’s Analytics, and we all know how Commie-Socialist they are.
By the way, the Bush tax cuts generated a whopping $0.32 for every dollar.
