The president of Montana’s Big Sky Tea Party Association has been fired from his leadership position following remarks made online that implied his support for the public hanging of homosexuals.
In his Facebook entries, Tim Ravndal favorably looked to the murder of Matthew Shepard in Wyoming in 1998 for “instructions” on how to deal with gays. (He later claimed he had no intention of invoking the Shepard case when he referred to Wyoming. Just a coincidence.)
Not all members of the Tea Party are racists and homophobes, but you can be pretty sure that a lot of racists and homophobes are members of the Tea Party.
