In A Nutshell

There is an ongoing court battle in Murfreesboro, Tennessee, over the building of an Islamic Center. You remember; it was the place where the construction equipment was torched back in the summer in a fit of religious tolerance. Anyway, TPM quotes one of the lawyers, Joe Brandon, Jr., who is fighting the construction:

Brandon argued that the Islamic Center is not entitled to religious land use rights because these are the same people who flew jets into the World Trade Center on 9/11.

Yeah, okay… the people who flew jets into the World Trade Center died when they did that, so how can they be the same people who are wanting to build an Islamic Center in Tennessee?

Oh, he doesn’t mean they’re the exact same people; he just means people like that. Gotcha.

As Adam Serwer quips, if that lawyer thing doesn’t work out, he can always get a gig on Fox News.
