Dancing Up a Storm

I’ve never watched any reality TV show, so when I heard NPR devote a segment to the results of Dancing with the Stars, I had to figure out what the heck they were talking about.

Bristol Palin, daughter of Sarah Palin, beat out the competition based on viewers voting via e-mail over the apparent objection of the on-stage judges. The buzz is that it’s a Tea Party conspiracy to flood the system with votes for Ms. Palin.

The results have upset a few people, including one man in Wisconsin who took out his TV set with gunfire.

To quote Lord Byron, “And if I laugh at any mortal thing, ’tis that I may not weep.”
