Sarah Palin tried to trademark her name to prevent other people from cashing in on it, I suppose. Which means that every time someone else writes her name, they have to include the little “®” symbol with it, like she was a brand name. In this particular case, she was trying to register the name for “motivational speaking services.” I guess that’s because “Syrup of Ipecac” was already taken.
Yeah, as if politics hasn’t gotten around to the corporate/retail level enough, right? But apparently her application was refused because she failed to sign the registration papers. Maybe that’s because she didn’t have permission to use her name.
